Hotel Sonar Bangla Puri

This Hotel location is great, just across the sea beach however the price point is very high compared to others. I have booked Sea view room with Balcony for 2 nights, the price per night is more than Hyatt, ITC etc. The room size was ok and bathroom was not clean, always wet as there is no slope. The bathroom vent is facing the lobby for each room which is absolute mess. Also, the food was average. The staffs were helpful.

The toilet of the sea side facing rooms (Platinum) is unnaturally small, something which is not at all expected given the tariff they're charging. The hallways and corridors reek of foul smell which is very unpleasant as well; this is due to the fact that all the toilet windows of all the rooms are facing the corridor, making it very unpleasant for the guests, when walking in the corridors. The restaurant is at the basement with no windows and natural light at all, hence not a very good vibe and the food quality is decent, not very good too. Gym is mentioned outside the property, but is just a small open space behind the reception with minimal equipments, so expectations need to be managed here. As positives, the roof side cafe is good but lacks sophistication as all the pillows and other stuff were kept openly on one side of the room and not a good thing to see. The service in the cafe was good though and all the staff were very well behaved. There is good parking space as well. Overall, if someone wants a premium and sophisticated experience, then this is not the place you would want to be in.

My stay at Hotel Sonar Bangla in Puri during October 2024 was nothing short of perfect. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the calm atmosphere and the beautiful seaside setting. The view from my room was absolutely stunning -- waking up to the sound of waves and seeing the ocean right from the window felt surreal. The room itself was spacious, spotlessly clean, and thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. We dined at the in-house restaurant and tried the Bengali thali and crab curry -- both were rich in flavor and beautifully prepared. The food truly captured the essence of authentic Bengali cuisine. The breakfast buffet each morning was another highlight -- a good variety of fresh, well-balanced options to start the day right. We also enjoyed a peaceful evening at the rooftop restaurant, which offered a lovely view and a cozy dining experience. Every aspect of our stay -- from the food to the service to the view -- exceeded expectations. The hospitality was warm yet professional, making the whole trip feel special. I would wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Sonar Bangla to anyone visiting Puri. I'm already looking forward to my next stay.

1. The entrance to the hotel might appear clean but there were several small centipede before the entrance. Atleast entrance should be kept clean and hygienic 2. Also, some wastes and throwaways are placed just beside entrance creating unpleasant smell at night. 3. Hallways have unpleasant smell. 4. Rooms are small but hotel price is higher. 5. The washrooms don't have any exhaust fans creating suffocation inside washroom. 6. Similarly hotel price is higher but less food options in breakfast. My small suggestions would be to keep environment hygienic and hallways clean, followed by installing exhaust fans in rooms.

Very Average only plus point is balcony sea facing that's great rest all negative. 1. Tariff is too high according to the quality of the rooms. 2. The bathrooms are so small that a person can't even take shower. 3. They should change there cook too bad the name is sonar bangla and doesn't know to cook Bengali food. I ordered plane fish fry ( in Bengali Maach bhaja) they replied not available they have gone to the market to buy fish which will take time that also at 11:30 AM. 4. Breakfast is so so nothing on live counter doesn't have anything non-veg (except egg) more or less same menu repeated daily. 5. The hotel it self is very small compared with the rest of there group hotels.
