Hotel Golden Palace Puri

Hotel Golden Palace puri is one of the expensive hotels of Puri. Its location is very nice. Right on the sea beach and away from hustle bustle of swargadwar. It has both sea view and swimming pool view rooms. Sea view rooms with higher tariff obviously. The restaurant serves good quality tasty foods. Breakfast is complimentary and with large oprions. All the good thing ends here. Linens are stained. Washroom is poorly maintained. Intercom stops working after sometime. And nobody will care if u lodge a complaint. We asked for some plates and spoons to have the mahaprasad received from mandir. After three reminders we get it after half an hour. Room service is poorest. Ac was not working and nobody cared to repair it. Not recommended at all.

Everything is fine and with excellent location, infront of the blue flag beach of Golden beach. But faced a horrific situation wrt monkey menace. PLEASE LOCK THE WINDOWS AND THE DOORS TIGHTLY BEFORE STEPPING OUT ELSE YOUR ROOM WILL BE RANSHACKED BY THEM, AS THEY KNOW HOW TO OPEN THE WINDOW LOCKS!! EVEN THE HOTEL AUTHORITY WONT INFORM YOU PRIOR. The hotel must put up NETS infront of the windows like in Dalhousie, HP to keep away the monkeys. Rest are all good.

This is our first family stay in this hotel. Let me share the positives first. Location - excellent, right on the blue flag beach! Room - spacious and sea facing with balcony. Parking - enough space inside the premise, Food - quality the best in this hotel, staff - very friendly and always ready to help! Let's now look at areas which need immediate attention and improvements. Room condition - very poorly maintained and visible cracks, poor light in the washroom. Linens are not a good quality. Pillow had fungus, and dirty! Restaurant - the table mats worn out, table sides are broken! Lastly would like to mention 2 exceptional staff members in the restaurant, Shankar and Jitu Nayak, who are ever willing to help the guests with the right food. The restaurant stands out from all other functions in this hotel.

The location of the hotel is one of the best locations, located on the beach with very beautiful view of sea. Sea facing rooms are among the best sought after rooms. Serive and food are good, swimming pool is also icing on the cake, though hotel needs bit more care and maintenance. Overall a great experience at this hotel and a memorable trip to puri in the lap of Lord Jagannath.

I stayed here during August 2025. My experience was not good. Room service is very poor. Despite 4-5 reminder non of service person will visit you. Secondly rooms and toilets are not clean. Sea facing rooms have more charges but facility are not upto that level. Location is good as it is on beach but you will get one free access to beach from hotel. You have to pay Rs. 20 per person for access to beach. The only good thing in restaurant as it serves tasty food. Otherwise hotel is over hyped not worth to pay Rs. 6500/- for sea facing rooms.
