Massey University Gym

Excellent gym. Great pricing for a 1-week pass and easy sign up process for travelers passing through. Very friendly staff. Plenty of squat racks and weights. Organized. Clean. Lots of fans to keep cool. We were here during December and nearly had the gym to ourselves. Definitely a much better choice than commercial gyms.

Great gym! A warm and welcoming environment, everyone is very friendly. I felt comfortable being able to learn and grow in such a good space. Staff are brilliant and shout out to my guy Fletcher who's on the way to becoming a legendary PT :)

I've never much liked gyms, but this place is very different! The staff is very welcoming and not intimidating is getting set up (thanks Jacob). They helped me adapt my exercises to the equipment they have, even ordering some specialised weights I needed that they didn't have (thanks Miska). People using the gym have been very respectful of space and sharing equipment, including wiping sweat off after they use it. People aren't dropping weights or having loud conversations or chatting on their phones. Unlike a lot of gyms that seem to play the same terrible remixes of pop songs all day long, I find the music at this gym to have much more variety. Kudos to Miska and Brooke specifically for their exquisite musical tastes. When I walk in and see either of them on duty, I know it's going to be a good day. The only complaint I can really come up with is that the men's locker room is a bit depressing. It's clean and doesn't smell bad or anything, but maybe needs a refresh someday.
