We stayed for four nights during the last week of September 2025. The service and cleanliness were excellent and exceptional. Location is very near to Police Bazar where you get everything.
All the staff were courteous and very helpful. Check-in, the final billing, and check-out were smooth, taking less than three minutes, I believe.
The ladies and gentlemen waiting the tables at the Mynt restaurant are amazing and always served with a smile.
I would also like to specifically mention the lady at the live omelette/pancake counter during the breakfast buffet; she maintained her smile even during rush hours. The breakfast spread is awesome, and the taste of all items was amazing, with the exception of the Luchi (it wasn't really authentic Luchi). No complaints, though; the variety and taste of all other items were so superb that one item didn't make any difference.
We had lunch outside every day as we were out sight-seeing.
We were in luck that the Durga Pujo special dinner buffet was running during our stay. As a Bengali, this was a great treat. The items were cooked to perfection and tasted as if they had been prepared with great care. We loved that dinner buffet to the fullest.
Flavors from different states were served in Wink, and I tried the Groove from Arunachal, it was amazing.
While we were out sight-seeing, the room would be cleaned, and adequate water bottles would be present upon our return. Great housekeeping! Although we didn't have any specific requests, so we didn't really meet any of the housekeeping team members.
Finally, a shout-out to the amazing person at the reception helping people with their luggage. Even though we had only one piece of luggage and said we would manage, he still insisted on helping us.
The one and only slight drawback is that the bathroom is small, not even a standard size, just small.
I would definitely recommend Vivanta Shillong from all aspects. Thank you, team, for making my family's stay in Meghalaya amazing.

Visited in September 2025 and stayed for 4 nights in two parts, traveling with my wife and our 11-year-old son.
We were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the corner-most room--a unique duplex suite with a king bed and bath area on the ground floor, plus a small single bed in the attic with its own bathroom. A thoughtful gesture by the front office team--thank you!
A special mention for Dharisa and Phibadondor, who took wonderful care of us throughout our stay. Since we had split our booking into two parts, they kindly stored one of our bags while we were away and ensured we got the same room upon our return. Chesil and Hilter were also always around to help with our questions, cheerfully chatting and sharing information with a smile.
We had some memorable meals and conversations at the restaurant. Tried cuisines across the menu and enjoyed every single dish--compliments to the chef and kitchen team. A heartfelt thank-you to Raphmica and Krithika, who were warm, attentive, and caring throughout. Their hospitality made our 11-year-old feel extra special, and he was generous in his praise too!
After those wonderful morning breakfasts, we'd head out exploring for the day--always looking forward to coming back "home" in the afternoon to warm smiles and consistently great food.
Housekeeping also took great care of us, promptly attending to our requests for water and tea bags (we do love our tea!). My wife tried the spa and gave her approval as well.
Overall, this was easily one of my best Taj experiences across 25 properties I've stayed at over the last 20 years. Thank you to the entire team--highly recommended!
