Such a lovely place to stay!
It is sound-rounded by trees, it has an amazing pool and a great rooftop from where you can actually see the sea! There are many yoga mats available for your self practice and the yoga class from the retreat was really good. My room was big, comfortable and always clean. There is also a good balcony where you can chill and work remotely - good wifi also. It is 7 minutes walking from the beach and restaurants. It is really good to be around girls, we could connect with each other and have a fun time. It's a peaceful and chill hostel. I stayed 8 days in total but I could definitely stay longer!!! I really recommend it!

During my remote work trip, I had to find a quiet, safe, and seaside place to stay; if these conditions weren't met, I had to move quickly as there is no other choice. Happily I found the perfect location at Varkala's House of Surf and didn't even had a second thought to message the host for booking the stay for one week.
The hostel was only a short walk from the beach, in a quiet, secure neighborhood. I could enjoy the walk to the beach and waves every day, both before and after work, and still feel comfortable traveling alone as a female without the usual crowds. My needs were taken care of and given careful consideration by the hosts who later become good friends.
I appreciate Aparna, the one behind the house of surf, for designing such a wonderful stay that was especially designed for female tourists seeking a slow living experience.This would be a go to place for me anytime i visit varkala.
