My wife and I were traveling from Gujarat to Kolkata and decided to make an overnight stop in Hazaribagh. While searching for a comfortable and decent hotel, we chose this property based on its location and outward appearance. Unfortunately, within just a few minutes of arriving, our expectations were entirely shattered. The receptionist greeted us with a look of suspicion and immediately demanded our identification before offering any information about room availability or rates. His tone was unwelcoming and, frankly, quite unsettling. What made the situation even more uncomfortable was his insistence on asking, "Aap kya lagte hain inke?" (What is your relationship to her?) -- a question that was repeated in a manner that felt inappropriate, invasive, and completely out of place in a professional hospitality setting. I cannot speak to the quality of the rooms or amenities, as we chose not to stay. But it is deeply concerning when front desk staff, who represent the first impression of any hotel, lack basic etiquette and professionalism. In hospitality, courtesy and respect are not optional -- they are foundational. I sincerely urge the management to prioritize hiring well-trained, educated staff who understand the essentials of customer service. A beautiful property means little when guests are made to feel uncomfortable or disrespected from the moment they arrive.
