Ubud Gym

If you are not a insta-hyper-shaved modern fit-fluencer this place will be sufficient for your training. Yes, it could be cleaner. Yes, there could be more dumbbells. But hey, it works anyway and this place has its own spirit.

Great price, just 25,000RP for a day pass and 125,000RP for a monthly pass. The equipment is quite old and scarce, as well as a little unsafe, especially the row machines. The gym has a cool character with mirrors on nearly every wall, not to mention some great regulars.

Honestly the gym could use some cleaning, the equipment some wiping down and the whole place a renovation and upgrade.. BUT, it has everything you need to workout (more weight training, no cardio) and offers unbeatable price per visit. We paid 25,000 pp for a day visit. My husband and I liked the experience of working out without all the fancy equipment. We went 3 times out of the 6 days we were in Ubud.

It's old, it's rusty, it's dirty, but it's cheap. 25k for a pump and an ego boost to max out all the machines, well worth it.

No air con, no fans, no bolts to hold the pads onto the benches. It's very much like a rusty time capsule. The price is dirt cheap. No idea how they keep such a large space open given everything... (There's a huge dance hall type area off the open air gym space) Despite it all, I definitely worked up quite a sweat and somehow managed a semi-decent workout. Mostly thanks to the working leg press. For some strange reason, I think it was a great experience for personal growth. Almost like a dysfunctional rite of passage. Though I can't see myself finding a reason to return. Oh, and they guy running the place will happily turn the music off or down if you ask. It was nice hearing nature, along with the sounds of the 4 other people in there (I clearly hit it at peak hour).
